St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital is a 60-bed rehabilitation hospital focused on supporting patients to regain independence and improving their quality of life by offering specialist neurological, cardiac, orthopaedic, movement disorder (including Parkinson's disease) and reconditioning programs to patients from across the Mornington Peninsula and Greater Melbourne areas.
Your role at St John of God Frankston Hospital
You will work alongside the Multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical occupational therapy services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills.
As Grade 1 you will practice as an Occupational Therapist and ensures practice is in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia Code of Ethics and SJGHC policies and guidelines.
As Grade 2 you are expected to work independently and demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge and depth of experience. The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist is expected to initiate and participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities, to supervise students and supervise and mentor junior caregivers.
We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team. This position is suitable for both early-career therapists (Grade 1) and those with some experience (Grade 2), with opportunities for ongoing professional development and support.
The Position
Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required).
Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals.
Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate.
Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation
Provision of an Occupational Therapy treatment at a senior level.
Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required).
Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals to manage complex patients.
In conjunction with the Supervisor/Manager and other Occupational Therapy caregivers, develop processes for the evaluation of both inpatient and outpatient Occupational Therapy programs.
Patients/clients plans and outcomes are regularly monitored through attendance at and participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
You will hold a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist and will have current valid Drivers License.
To succeed you will have knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate senior clinical experience and leadership in a specialised area of clinical practice within a healthcare and disability care setting.

We can offer you
Salary $43.38 - $59.98 per hour (Casual loading included) plus 11.5% superannuation - Grade 1
Salary $60.17 - $71.96 per hour (Casual loading included) plus 11.5% superannuation - Grade 2
