Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Power BI Developer to join our team in the Public Sector and Government industry. This role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting Power BI reports and dashboards, collaborating with business stakeholders, and ensuring data accuracy. The position is based in the CBD of Perth, and allows for a Hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and support Power BI reports and dashboards.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements.

- Ensure data accuracy and consistency within Power BI solutions.

- Optimize Power BI performance and troubleshoot issues.

- Integrate Power BI with other data sources and systems.

- Assist in recreating Cognos reports in Power BI in collaboration with SQL developers.

- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities.

- Implement best practices for data visualization and report design.

- Conduct regular data validation and quality checks.

- Document development processes and maintain technical documentation.

- Stay updated on Power BI updates and new features.

Expected Qualifications

Proficiency in Power BI and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes.

Experience with SQL and database management.

Ability to create complex reports and interactive dashboards.

Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Experience with Power Query and M language.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other BI tools like Tableau or QlikView.

Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.

Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
