Medical receptionist required for a small medical specialist practice in Boronia (Opthalmology) working alongside the Practice Manager and Specialist.

Permanent, part-time 2 days a week (Tuesday and Fridays) from 7.30am to 4.30pm (x1 admin and x1 consulting day). Immediate start and onsite parking available. $32-34 an hour. Willing to negotiate payrate and start/end time for the right candidate.

Must be able to cover holiday and sick leave from time to time.

Ideally, we would love someone looking for part-time work, long term.

About Us – We are a small friendly practice in Boronia servicing a mostly local elderly clientel. We specialise in care of patients with macular degeneration, cataracts and general eye complaints. Dr Steiner, our principal Opthalmologist, works three days a week, and two sessional Opthalmologists consult other days once a month. Although our clientele is mostly elderly, we are looking for someone who can interact with people of all ages.

Role and Purpose – To be the welcoming face and voice of our practice, greeting patients, answering phones and queries, booking and managing appointments, billing, filing and audio typing. Our practice is largely paper based so high attention to detail is required. Multitasking is essential as consulting days can be hectic.

About you – We are looking for someone who has a kind disposition and strives to provide high quality patient care and customer service no matter how they feel on the day, as our patients are at the centre of everything we do. You should be reliable and professional with a good attitude, an excellent work ethic and a willingness to learn.

You must be able to work autonomously and with others as you will be an integral part of a small close knit team and have the ability to cover sick leave and/or holidays from time to time.

Experience with medical administration is preferable but all administrative/reception experience will be considered. Knowledge of a practice management software, Medicare and/or Eclipse is desirable. Excellent audio typing skills are required . Full training will be provided.
