Kath Dickson Family Centre is seeking qualified Early Childhood Kindergarten Teachers for our Toowoomba Education and Care Centres.

The role commences June/July 2025.

Kath Dickson Family Centre is a not-for-profit Community based organisation. Our vision since 1975 is to ‘Advance the education and wellbeing of children, individuals and families’.

Our kindergarten environments are part of our long day care centres with their own spacious and well-resourced rooms, providing many opportunities for young children to explore their world through play and build positive relationships with educators, families and the community. They also provide opportunities for the children to participate in family grouping and mix with and support the younger children in the centres.

Our teams of educators are supportive of each other and work together to meet the needs of children and families within a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Early Childhood Teacher qualifications (Qualifications must be approved by ACECQA to teach in an early childhood setting); Working towards a relevant qualification will be considered.

First Aid: HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting and current CPR;

Current Positive/Exemption Working with children card;

Current knowledge and understanding of all components of the Early Childhood Education and Care National Quality Framework and

Commitment to undertake Child Protection and other ECEC specific training relevant to the role.

Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member;

Well-developed interpersonal oral and written communication skills;

A sound understanding of theories of early childhood development and quality practices;

A strong desire to deliver a high quality, inclusive and educational program, providing each child with a secure nurturing environment;

A positive attitude of acceptance, respect, and ability to demonstrate empathy for the individual needs and interests of each child and their families;

The ability to promote the values and philosophy of Kath Dickson Family Centre and

A commitment to ongoing professional learning and personal growth.

About the Role

The Teacher has the responsibility for the delivery, and planning of an educational program for the children attending the Kindergarten program.

The role of the Teacher is to:

support the implementation of an approved learning framework (EYLF & QKLG) within the program;

plan and deliver a high quality, inclusive early childhood educational program;

ensure that documentation on children and their learning is maintained evidencing a holistic approach;

manage all room documentation using the Centre's electronic platform (OWNA);

support a strong and cohesive professional team including attendance at staff meetings;

mentor, plan for and maintain close communication with all educators in the centre;

develop an understanding of and follow centre policies and procedures;

develop strong trusting relationships between children, families, and staff and the wider Kath Dickson community;

promote our centres within the local and broader community including participating in Kath Dickson specific promotional events as required and

maintain confidentiality in matters relating to parents, staff and children.
