About the Role
We have an excellent career opportunity for an Assistant Project Officer to join the Industrial Relations Branch within the Premier's Department. This vital role supports the Bargaining & Legal Strategy team in providing research, analysis, and administrative assistance across a range of critical projects. You will work closely with the team and key stakeholders, helping to ensure that project milestones, reporting, and documentation are delivered on time and to a high standard.
The Assistant Project Officer add values through coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and assisting in the preparation of project briefs and reports that support informed decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial relations and workforce strategy, working on projects that influence workplace policies and legal frameworks.

We're Looking For
- Project Support Experience: Proven ability to assist with project coordination, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of documentation
- Research & Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct research, collate data, and provide insights that support decision-making
- Industrial Relations Knowledge: Exposure to and/or an understanding of industrial awards, policies, and legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge to workforce issues
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective communicator, able to provide clear updates, liaise with stakeholders, and coordinate meetings
- Organisational & Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing solutions to support project success
- Team-Oriented: Collaborative and able to work well within a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
