Key Responsibilities

Fibre Technicians:

Fibre splicing (single & ribbon)

OTDR testing, fault finding and rectification

Exchange patching and customer device installs (NTU/NTD/BTD)

Internal and external cable hauling

Reading network and fibre designs

Civil Telecommunications (Pit & Pipe Work):

Trenching, backfilling and reinstatement

Pit & pipe installation

Hauling through conduit and cable paths

Basic machine operation (e.g., excavators, hydro vac)

Adhering to traffic and safety plans

What You’ll Need (or Be Willing to Obtain):

Driver’s Licence (essential)

Construction White Card

Police Clearance

First Aid Certificate

Work Zone Traffic Management

NBN Enable Accreditation

Working at Heights & Confined Space Entry

Desirable (but not essential):

Certificate III Telecommunications

Open Cabling Licence with Fibre Endorsements

Excavator or Asbestos Removal Ticket

Locate & Protect Accreditation
