James Cook University (JCU) is currently seeking a passionate and experienced academic to fill the role of Lecturer, Health Professional Education in our College of Medicine and Dentistry.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE

In this key position, you will support the development and delivery of Health Professional Education across the Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy programs. You will contribute to subject design, teaching, assessment coordination, and academic leadership in collaboration with discipline academics and enabling professional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Health Professional Education components across programs, supporting curriculum development, assessment processes, and casual staff oversight.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching through lectures, tutorials, and integrative sessions, and contribute to marking and student support.
  • Participate in scholarly research and innovation in teaching and learning within the College, with opportunities to collaborate on national and international education initiatives.
  • Engage actively in College and Discipline meetings and contribute to governance through committee service.

To excel in this role, you will possess a postgraduate qualification in a relevant health discipline, coupled with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a passion for enhancing the quality of healthcare education. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will engage with a diverse student population and collaborate with industry partners.

Additionally, we value individuals with a proven track record in research and scholarly activities, as well as a desire to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of health professional education.
