THE ROLE

• Conduct inductions for all new site personnel and subcontractors
• Review SWMS and ensure documentation matches on-site conditions
• Own all high-risk safety activities including crane installations, hoist jumps, train removals
• Run weekly site safety walks with trade teams
• Attend daily pre-starts and be visible across site
• Monitor and maintain scaffold safety and edge protection
• Manage compliance for day-to-day PPE and behaviour-based safety
• Handle safety communications and education via site-wide emails
• Generate safety reports, hazard assessments, and incident follow-ups
• Seek continuous improvement and raise issues before they become problems
• Support the site team during key delivery phases (e.g. concrete pours, install milestones)
• Balance high compliance standards with practical site delivery.
• Driving proactive rather than reactive safety behaviors.

THE PERSON

• Strong practical site safety understanding (not just policy)
• Experience on large, high-rise projects
• Confidence managing high-risk activities
• Cert IV / Diploma in Safety
• High-rise construction projects with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
• Familiarity with computer safety systems
• Trade background or experience working with trades preferred
• Calm under pressure
• Pragmatic and collaborative
• Holds the line firmly without being combative
• Trusted by site teams and leadership
