Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of full-time AOD Worker.

The AOD Worker is part of the clinical team at Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service (CAHS). CAHS is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation located in central NSW. The organisation is a not-for-profit holistic, primary health service providing culturally appropriate services to the Aboriginal people of the area.

The role of the AOD Worker is to contribute to the various programs of CAHS including the drug and alcohol program, and other preventative health care programs. The position is designed to contribute to and support the services of CAHS through direct client services.

Note: This is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW

Key Selection Criteria

· Experience as an AOD worker

· Ability to identify situations where a more senior staff member or clinically qualified staff member is required for assistance.

· Demonstrated effective communication skills

· Current NSW Working with Children Check

· Current National Criminal History Check

· Experience with client case management

· Experience coordinating community events

· Demonstrated experience in maintaining stakeholder relationships

· Demonstrated experience in collecting and entering data

Additional Factors

· Possession of a current ‘C’ Class open drivers license valid in NSW required

· Current First Aid & CPR certificates

· Proof of vaccination must be provided upon acceptance of appointment
