About
We are a dynamic, growth orientated company dedicated to the essential repair and maintenance that keeps critical vehicles and aircraft operational for transport and logistics. Specialising in aviation and heavy transport vehicles, we are the backbone for businesses that rely on their transport assets being in peak condition. We pride ourselves on technical excellence and efficient logistics, all supported by robust commercial foundations and strong relationships.
We work hand-in-hand with a diverse network of skilled small and medium businesses as well as some of the largest organisations in our economy, both as trusted suppliers providing specialist services and as valued customers relying on our maintenance expertise. Our mission is to provide reliable, high-quality maintenance services and seamless operations, underpinned by clear, effective commercial agreements and fostering strong, lasting partnerships within the SME market.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Commercial Manager to join our team and become a key player in managing the commercial heart of our operations. This pivotal, in-house role will see you act as the central point for reviewing, assisting negotiations, and managing a wide spectrum of customer and supplier contracts exclusively within our transport and aviation repair/maintenance sectors, with a significant focus on our small and medium enterprise partners.
You will be the go-to expert, providing the essential commercial and contractual expertise that supports our technical and operational teams. This role is critical in ensuring our agreements are commercially sound, mitigate risk effectively, manage complex service agreements end-to-end, and ultimately support our operational excellence and growth trajectory within the SME market by building and maintaining great business relationships.
What You'll Do
- Lead the review and management of a wide range of customer and supplier contracts for transport repair and maintenance services, focusing intently on commercial terms and risk management and assisting internal stakeholders with negotiation.
- Interpret and provide expert advice on key terms and conditions relevant to service agreements (e.g., service levels, warranties, payment terms, liabilities, scope of work), translating complex clauses into practical business implications.
- Consult proactively with internal stakeholders across Operations, Technical Teams, Finance, and Management on contract-related matters, providing clear, actionable, and risk-aware guidance.
- Manage engagement with external advisors (e.g., legal counsel, insurance brokers) when needed for specialist contractual or risk matters.
- Ensure the accurate and effective flow-down of relevant service level agreements, warranty requirements, specific customer demands, or supplier obligations to subcontractors or internal departments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust contract management processes and systems, including tracking key dates (expiry, renewals), managing obligations, and ensuring accessibility of contract information.
- Lead and monitor internal contract governance and compliance activities, ensuring controls are effective and contractual activities are aligned with overall business strategy and operational needs.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related relevant field.
- Proven experience in commercial contract management, or a related role, preferably within the industrial services, aviation, maintenance services, or a sector with extensive interaction with varied customers.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles and demonstrated experience in commercial negotiation and drafting.
- Practical familiarity with managing service-based contracts, warranties, and supply chain agreements.
- A strong commercial and practical mindset – able to effectively balance service delivery needs, business objectives, relationship building, and contractual realities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal teams and build rapport with SME partners.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a structured approach to contract lifecycle management and process improvement.
Why Join Us
- Step into a critical position within a company that plays a vital role in keeping essential transport and aviation assets operational across various industries.
- Work closely with and build strong relationships internally to satisfy a diverse network of business partners and suppliers.
- Be part of a skilled, collaborative, and hands-on team passionate about quality service and operational efficiency in a dynamic industry.
- Enjoy significant opportunities to refine and build internal contract management processes specifically tailored for our unique business model and SME engagements, leaving a lasting impact.
Not sure if you meet every requirement listed? We strongly encourage you to apply anyway! We understand that diverse experiences can bring unexpected value and we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances and background.
