About the Role

Council’s Sport and Community Venues Branch, deliver and develop a diverse range of quality community facilities, optimising service outcomes and contributing to the social cohesion, economic viability and health and wellbeing of the Sunshine Coast community.

The Sports and Community Venues Systems Application Administrator facilitates and manages the local administration of the Event and Venue Management System and other application modules that support venues and events throughout the organisation. They also contribute to the knowledge management function of our venues and events, ensuring the availability of reliable data and supporting the range of reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Maintaining expert knowledge of the event and venue management systems including but not limited to the Event and Venue Management System, the Food and Beverage/Point of Sale System and the Ticketing System.

Maintaining knowledge of the Events and Venues operational and financial needs, correct practices and procedures

Being the first point of contact for problem resolution and operational issues to do with the Event and Venue Management Systems.

Maintaining strong relationships with system suppliers, provide support with contract management of these suppliers

Recording and monitoring requests for assistance so that training needs, system enhancements and Application Administrator workload can be identified and delivered.

Facilitating the development and approval of procedures that support the efficient and effective use of the systems.

Identifying opportunities for business improvement and enhancements to the systems.

Reviewing all modifications or enhancements to the systems proposed by the businesses for operational efficiency and impact.

Monitoring security access requests and make recommendations at the Application Support Group for additional or amended security groups.

Facilitating the development and approval of standards and procedures that impact on the integrity and confidentially of the data.

About you

As someone with substantial demonstrated knowledge of events and venue management, you will also have proven proficiency in computer system applications.

Our best candidate will have highly developed time management, project management, work prioritisation and organisational skills and the ability to research, problem solve and analyse data.

Demonstrated ability to manage own time, work independently, meet realistic deadlines and organise workload.

You will have high level interpersonal skills including the ability to work as an effective and positive team member in a customer focused and flexible environment.

As a requirement of this role, you must have a current “C” Driver’s Licence and a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.

Appointment to this position is also subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
