As a Disability Support Worker with us, you will make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities by empowering them to connect to our community. Your contribution will ensure that our vital programs have the enthusiasm they need to make a difference to the people we work with. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be supporting participants in their own home, at day programs, work or school. Part time and Casual roles are available in Lismore, Ballina and surrounds. Whatever your role, your days will be filled with an interesting variety of responsibilities.
Some duties include:
- Helping participants with daily living and household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping or budgeting.
- Facilitating programs to support participants to live independently
- Organising social outings and events such as theme parks, holidays, concerts
- Drive positive change
- Build trust and meaningful relationships
- Promote individual choice, health and well being
- Laugh and have fun!
About you
You will be passionate about empowering people living with a disability to live fulfilling lives. You will be patient, self-motivated and proactive. The role is shift work so you will need to be flexible to work a full range of shifts including sleepovers, active nights and weekends.
You will also:
- Have experience and/or qualifications in community or disability services
- Be computer literate
- Hold a current drivers licence
- Have a first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- Have a current NDIS worker check or willing to obtain one
- COVID 19 vaccination
