About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our shipyard in Harwood, NSW (near Yamba). This is a site-based role, ideal for someone with a strong background in marine operations or heavy industry, and a passion for safety, quality, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations of vessel and barge maintenance

Lead planning, scheduling and resource allocation across projects

Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality standards

Drive efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement

Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors, trades and project teams

Report progress and performance to senior management

What You’ll Bring

3+ years’ experience in a similar operations/leadership role

Marine, shipbuilding or heavy engineering industry experience (highly desirable)

Strong understanding of ship construction, maintenance and refit practices

Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse teams

Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills

Solid computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

Relevant qualifications in engineering, maritime operations or related discipline (preferred)
