About us

"Queensland Group of Specialists (QGOS)" is a platform for medical, surgical specialists and allied health professionals for their practice management and Sessional suites. Its biggest client is My Gut Care with several gastroenterologists. My Gut Care has new gastroenterologists and there are new specialists joining QGOS therefore to advertise them to local GP's we are looking for a medical receptionist and part-time GP liaison officer. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional with strong organizational skills, exceptional medical administration knowledge and marketing skills as this role requires speaking to GP practices and organising GP meetings.

The GP Liaison Officer is responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with general practitioners (GPs) in the community to ensure seamless communication between primary care providers and the Specialists. The role involves supporting GPs, managing referral processes, promoting services, and ensuring a smooth integration between primary care and specialist services.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective relationships with local GPs, medical centers, and other primary care providers. Act as the primary contact point for GPs.

Referral Coordination: Assist GPs with the referral process to QGOS and My Gut Care. Ensure efficient and timely referral management.

Service Promotion: Promote QGOS services, specialties, and treatment options to GPs, ensuring they have the necessary information to guide patient care.

GP Lunch meeting for education: Organize educational events and meetings to introduce new specialists and enhance GP knowledge of QGOS services.

Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from GPs regarding QGOS/My Gut Care services and use it to inform service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Problem Resolution: Address any concerns or issues raised by GPs regarding patient care, service access, or communication and work with internal teams to resolve them.

Data Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions with GPs, track referral patterns, and contribute to regular reporting as required by management.

Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including hospital staff, consultants, and other departments to ensure effective coordination of care for referred patients.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Education: A background in healthcare, nursing, or related field is preferred. A degree in health management or a similar field is an advantage.

Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare-related role, ideally with experience in GP liaison, health promotion, or patient services.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with GPs and other healthcare professionals.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with healthcare professionals at all levels.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues or challenges and proactively find solutions.

Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Knowledge of Healthcare Systems: Familiarity with local healthcare systems, referral processes, and clinical pathways.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of electronic patient management systems and healthcare IT systems.

Experience in managing external relationships with healthcare providers or stakeholders.

Understanding of clinical pathways, patient care coordination, and multidisciplinary team dynamics.

Personal Attributes:

Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to improve patient care through collaboration.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with GPs and healthcare professionals.

Professional demeanor and respect for confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of work.
