Casual shifts within group settings can start at either 8:30 am or 9:30 am and finish between 2:30 and 3:30 pm.
Social support shifts are also available on Friday night 3.30 – 8.00 pm and on the weekends.
We are looking for dynamic, flexible, values based quick thinkers to join our team as a Casual Disability Mentor – Community Support Worker. To work across all of our locations, Balwyn, Box Hill, Ringwood and Dandenong.
This role is about supporting people with intellectual disabilities within small groups and one on one in the community to build and demonstrate a range of skills that will support them to live their best life.

What does a day in the life of a Casual Disability Mentor- Community Support Worker look like?
As a mentor you will engage small groups of participants or individuals to provide ongoing opportunities for skill development, social interactions and community-based activities. Your role will include skill-based teaching, mentoring, feedback and collaboration. Your role is to provide empowering activities that guide people to develop skills and focus on their goals. You will need to think on your feet, and you will need to respond to the needs of the people you are working with by employing a range of knowledge and skills. The role is built on supporting people to achieve their goals and is very focused on increasing the skills that individual requires.

• A desire to support people to build their community-based networks.
• Experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities in skill development.
• Availability to work short shifts of 2 hours plus
• Weekend and after-hours availability
• Ongoing availability to pick up a minimum of 2 shifts per week
