About the role
As Systems and Platforms Engineer, you will undertake a critical role that contributes to building the Department into a high-performance innovative organisation by supporting the design, implementation, operational support and life-cycle management of the Department's business platforms and ICT foundation systems both on and off-premise.
The role:
Provide ongoing operational support to the Department's business systems, platforms and messaging infrastructure.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a stable, scalable, optimised, resilient, documented and sustainable ICT architecture.
Promote infrastructure group principles across the Department's ICT operations and project activities.
Essential requirements for this role:
Knowledge and experience in the system administration of Windows Server and Linux servers within a large distributed on-premise network spanning into cloud services, including installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, tuning documentation, backup and recovery.
Knowledge and experience in administering a range of technology platforms, including cloud infrastructure, anti-spam/virus and enterprise visualisation and data protection products, as well as disaster recovery provisioning maintenance and execution.
Demonstrate experience in infrastructure scripting and automation, and familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
