About the role

As Systems and Platform Engineer, you will occupy a vital position that contributes to building the Department into a high-performance innovative organisation by supporting the design, implementation, operational support and life-cycle management of the department's business platforms and ICT foundation systems both on and off-premises.

The role:

Provide ongoing operational support to the department's business systems, platforms and messaging infrastructure.

Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of a stable, scalable, optimised, resilient, documented and sustainable ICT architecture.

Promote infrastructure group principles across the department's ICT operations and project activities.

Essential requirements for this role:

Demonstrated good knowledge and experience in the system administration of Windows Server and Linux servers within a large distributed on-premises network spanning into significant cloud services, including installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery.

Demonstrate considerable experience in infrastructure scripting and automation, including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices and proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.

Demonstrate proficiency in cloud computing fundamentals such as the use of pipelines, DevOps, GitHub and AzureCLI.
