Disability Support Workers – Complex Needs & Behaviours of Concern

Are you an experienced Disability Support Worker with a passion for supporting individuals with complex disabilities and behaviours of concern? About the Role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing person-centred care to individuals with complex disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), physical disabilities, and psychosocial disabilities. You will be supporting children and adults who may present with challenging behaviours, sensory needs, and high medical or personal care needs.

Your role will involve:
✅ Implementing positive behaviour support strategies to manage behaviours of concern
✅ Providing emotional and social support to children and young people with complex needs
✅ Assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and community access
✅ Working closely with families, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
✅ Ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment

What You’ll Need:

• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent qualification
• Experience working with individuals with complex disabilities and behaviours of concern
• Experience supporting children and young people with high support needs
• Current Police Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC) & NDIS Worker Screening
• First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and behaviour management skills
• A trauma-informed and person-centred approach to care
