About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Field Operations Worker to support parent and commercial seed production at our Narromine site. The role involves field-based work including planting, detasseling, harvesting, equipment maintenance, and machinery operation. This is a dynamic position with seasonal peak periods (notably December–March) that may require some overtime.
Duties
- Undertake field-based activities for seed production
- Operate equipment for planting, spraying, and harvesting
- Execute the detasseling plan and corn harvest
- Conduct timely field checks
- Maintain, clean down, and transport field machinery and equipment
- Ensure Heavy Vehicle National Law obligations are met for equipment transport
- Maintain workshop area, inventory, and cleanliness
- Adhere to and actively participate in the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Actively participate in developing a safe and healthy workplace
- Take reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others
- Adhere to safety policies, procedures, and instructions
Skills & experience
- Current HC licence preferred
- Chemical user accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Field-based experience supporting seed production activities preferred
- Experience operating farm machinery
- Forklift license
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Reliability and initiative
- Positive, practical attitude
- Previous experience in field operations or seed production desirable
- Strong communication skills desirable
