Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Engineer – Development Services and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As the Principal Engineer you will be a part of the development Services team to provide technical expertise and lead the assessment of highly complex development matters relating to the impact of development on transport and stormwater infrastructure to meet the needs of the community.
Through proactively engaging with key stakeholders, undertake site inspections and investigations to support the assessment of development applications including resolution in transport and stormwater infrastructure issues. Lead the levying and recovery of the cost of infrastructure, including negotiation of complex infrastructure agreements.
In addition, you will:
- lead the assessment of development applications in line with legislative, policy and business requirements
- support the coordination of the development assessment process and the recovery of the cost of infrastructure, including negotiation of highly complex infrastructure agreements
- support the development of team capability to drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focussed culture
- build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality services outcomes are achieved
- represent Council as required providing expert knowledge and advice to key stakeholders.
About you
You will hold a Degree in Civil Engineering and experience in the delivery of engineering assessment, and compliance services, along with providing technical leaderships and direction to team members, high level knowledge of Legislation, the State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan, the Planning scheme, and the Adopted Infrastructure Charge Resolution.
You will be a natural communicator with the ability to influence key stakeholders to support the negotiation of good design outcomes and infrastructure agreements. With an awareness of the principles and practices relating to the planning, design and construction of transport, stormwater and public park infrastructure and landscaping works, you will quickly become a valuable member of our team.
