Overview:
Looking to take the next big step in your design career?
We’re on the hunt for a Visual Communication Designer to bring publications to life for a federal government client. In this long-term role, you’ll collaborate with a close-knit creative team to design high-impact content that informs and inspires. You'll gain first-hand experience shaping communication within one of Australia's largest government departments.

This role offers $50–$70 per hour (including super) and kicks off 1 July 2025 for 12 months, with two potential 12-month extensions. That’s up to three years of career-building work.
While we welcome remote applicants, Canberra-based designers are preferred for closer collaboration with our client’s communications team.
A minimum of 2 years’ design experience and an NV1 clearance are essential.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Graphic design and/or multi-media support experience in the context of publication development, preferably within government or corporate-related environments.
• Proven ability to create visually engaging content that meets the needs of both business and end users.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset, with a demonstrated ability to contribute in agile, high-performing teams.
• Experience maintaining design documentation and ensuring corporate records are maintained.
• Capacity to manage time effectively and deliver high-quality outputs to set deadlines.
