Customer Service Officer - NSW Government

We’re seeking experienced and personable Customer Service Representatives to join a dedicated team based in Ballina. This is a part-time, onsite role offering 20 hours per week, with a strong possibility of additional hours.

About the Role:

You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, providing professional, courteous and efficient service across a variety of channels. Working onsite in a structured service centre environment, you’ll assist customers with enquiries, process information, and uphold high service standards.

Key Details:

• Location: Ballina Service Centre (Onsite only)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: Anticipated until 28/02/2026 with potential to extend
• Hourly Rate: $36.11 + Super
• Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 8:45am and 5:15pm (excluding public holidays)
• Training: Full-time training (35 hours/week) for approx. 8–10 weeks at a specialised facility in Coffs Harbour or Penrith, NSW

About You:

• Typing, monitor/mouse navigation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook & Teams)
• Confident with email and online communication tools

• 2–3 years’ experience in customer service (call centre, admin, or retail preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience in an office environment
• Technically savvy with intermediate computer skills
  
• Fast learner, adaptable to new systems and processes
• Previous government or public sector experience is a bonus, but not essential
