The primary focus of this role is the accounts receivable management of Australian Ecosystems which is a business within the group that has a reputation as an innovative leader in sustainable landscape construction and maintenance, particularly in wetlands and waterways. Reporting to the Group CFO, this role will manage accounts receivable collection in the Construction, Maintenance and Nursery business units.
We pride ourselves on maintaining strong financial foundations through proactive debtor management and in line with growth projections we are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer who thrives on the challenge of reducing aged debt and maintaining healthy cash flow.
The Opportunity
This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Credit/Accounts Receivable Officer to take ownership of an accounts receivable function within an environmentally focused Group, while also developing their accounting and communication skills in a professional and innovative environment.
Your structured, diligent and sometimes creative approach along with a professional communication style will be key attributes in ensuring our debtor ledgers remains in excellent health.
Our businesses recently migrated to a modern cloud-based ERP that enables automation of some accounts receivable management (e.g. issuing statements) and facilitates efficient practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively manage the debtor ledgers with a focus on aged debt recovery.
Conduct debtor follow-ups via phone and email
Develop strong relationships with customers while maintaining firm collection practices.
Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies liaising with both client and internal teams.
Manage the distribution of monthly statements and dunning letters.
Work closely with the finance and operational teams to ensure that client contacts are accurately and completely recorded.
Assist with continuous improvement of receivables processes and reporting.
About You:
You enjoy the challenge of chasing down overdue accounts and take pride in achieving collection targets.
Bring a high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Resilient, professional, and comfortable having difficult conversations when needed.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills – can think outside the box
Requirements:
Previous experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or collections (2+ years preferred).
Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and MS Excel.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
