The Role

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated Fire Protection Certification, Compliance & AFSS Practitioner to join our Sydney-based team.

This is a critical role with real responsibility and autonomy, and an opportunity to contribute to a company that values technical excellence and client satisfaction.

This role will see you working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance with fire protection regulations across a wide portfolio of sites in Sydney and regional New South Wales.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct system interface testing in conjunction with contractors or consultants

· Undertake compliance inspections and prepare detailed reports

· Lead the AFSS process, including inspections, sign-off and lodgement

· Monitor and interpret changes to relevant codes, including NCC, BCA and AS 1851

· Assess and report on essential fire safety measures in buildings

· Conduct building audits and surveys, identifying risks and non-compliance issues

· Maintain accurate compliance records and audit documentation

· Collaborate with clients and internal departments to ensure a coordinated approach

· Prepare high-quality written reports and correspondence for clients and authorities

· Support continuous improvement in fire safety compliance processes

· Actively build relationships and identify opportunities for additional services

You will be responsible for the inspection, assessment, and certification of fire safety systems and equipment, and will take ownership of the Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) process for multiple buildings.

This is a role suited to a compliance-focused professional who enjoys being in the field, working autonomously, and being part of a company that delivers real value to its clients.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in fire safety and compliance, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently and confidently in the field. You'll bring a proactive approach to managing risk and a commitment to delivering professional service.

To be considered, you will need:

· FSA Accreditation through the FPAS scheme (endorsed for all fire safety measures preferred)

· Proven experience in fire safety audits, inspections, and compliance reporting

· In-depth understanding of the Building Code of Australia (BCA), National Construction Code (NCC), and relevant Australian Standards (AS1851, AS2419, etc.)

· Demonstrated experience with AFSS processes and essential safety measures

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· High level of attention to detail and commitment to compliance

· Current and unrestricted Australian driver’s licence

· Ability to obtain a Police Check and Working With Children clearance

· Permanent residency or valid working rights in Australia (sponsorship not available)
