Duties
- Creating and implementing menu items, including specials.
- Leading the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard with a large range of ingredients.
- Overseeing the quality of dishes throughout the cooking and serving process.
- Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to maintain standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborating with Management and kitchen and service staff.
- Teaching cooking methods and offering guidance on culinary practices.
- Food preparation.
- Safely and effectively operating various large volume cooking equipment.
- Communicating and enforcing food safety standards.
- Hiring and training personnel.
- Managing daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering and stock control.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.
Skills and Experience
- 2 years work experience as a Chef
- Relevant trade qualification
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
