Wakefield Garden Surgery and The Surgery in Manuka Terrace, are your local friendly and professional healthcare clinics located in the North and South of Canberra. We're currently seeking a reliable, personable, and well-organized individual to join our team as a casual receptionist.

The current position we are looking to fill is a casual position, available to work at short notice and be able to cover sick and annual leave, over both our sites. Our operating hours are 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday as well as Saturdays 8am to 12.30pm.

Please note that the position is Casual therefore some weeks you may get no hours and other weeks may vary.

Responsibilities:

Meet and greet patients

Answer phone, make booking appointments

Software Program -Best Practice

Process payments via EFT, Medicare claims, COMM Health

Liaise with patients, doctors, other specialist practitioners, hospitals, staff, suppliers and other stakeholders

End of day banking reconciliations

Review and send out doctor’s correspondence

Other administrative duties as requested by practitioners and supervisor

Stocking and tidying of consulting rooms

Tidy reception area, waiting room and kitchen

Working individually and as a team

Requirements:

Previous receptionist experience, while previous medical receptionist experience is desirable, previous receptionist experience is essential

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software

Professional appearance and demeanor

Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes on short notice

Strong attention to detail

Excellent time management skills

Be reliable, honest and passionate

Be able and willing to provide excellent service in a team environment

Support the core values of the clinic

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with strong interpersonal skills

Positive, friendly and professional attitude
