We are a community owned, not-for-profit Children’s Centre in Golden Grove within a beautiful old Homestead. We provide a warm, welcoming, secure environment where all families are respected, supported, included, and valued. We provide a learning space for children where their individual capabilities and potential are nourished and recognised. We actively participate in caring for our environment and promote sustainable practices through educating and working with our children, families, and wider community. We support all children’s secure attachment through primary care-giving and consistent and warm relationships. We provide opportunities for open-ended natural environments for children to engage with. We acknowledge the importance of outdoor play and we encourage and promote the natural connection children have to nature. Our educators are the centre’s most valuable resource. Our educators are encouraged and supported to develop warm respectful relationships with children

Qualifications & experience

Diploma or Certificate III in Children's Education & Care Current Senior First Aid Certificate Current Report Abuse & Neglect in Education & Care Certificate Current Working with Children Check

Tasks & responsibilities

Develop, plan, implement and evaluate appropriate programs of care and education in relation to children’s strengths, needs and development including programs for a group of children.Undertake experiences with the children as per the planned development.

Ensure the emotional well-being, health and safety of each child whilst in the Centre, building a positive relationship with each child in care. Promote, prepare and supervise experiences that facilitate and enhance the children’s development based on theoretical and practical knowledge.

Share information concerning the day to day events and needs of the children. Maintain confidentiality. Communicate on a professional and confidential basis the development, status, progress and programs of children to their parents. Perform duties as per daily roster, routines and program

Be sensitive to and aware of fellow staff members and make effective contributions as part of a staff team. Actively support the values and benefits of quality childcare in the wider community.

Demonstrate a commitment to providing quality care in the Golden Grove Community. Encourage children and families to use, belong and develop a sense of commitment to facilities and services available in the local community.

We offer: monthly RDOs, weekly non-contact time, above award wages, After 3 years of service 1 extra day annual leave with an additional day after 5 years of service. Christmas/New Year closure (2 weeks). Training and development opportunities An experienced staff team.
