This is Financial Leadership role in our Not for Profit, Charity organisation.
This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week, with flexibility on days and some flexibility on shift times.
Our Core Business: Secure, safe, affordable housing for those in need, for all people who are eligible under Community and Social Housing sector.
INCH provides community housing services to people on low incomes and who have multi-complex circumstances. Since our commencement in 1991, INCH has provided homes to 1,845 families or single people. On average, we have provided one home to one family/single person each week for 33 years.
INCH is governed by a volunteer Board, consisting of highly skilled community members to provide Governance over INCH’s Business Plan and Strategic directions. INCH partners with the Department Housing and Public Works, Brisbane City Council, and engages with many community and government support, training, employment, education and life skills services to deliver to housing and other services to assist our clients towards independence.
The Accountant is responsible for providing efficient and effective financial management services, and reports to INCH's Board via the CEO.
You will work autonomously, within the senior leadership team. Your days will be varied, however your key duties and responsibilities will include:
Role purpose:
taking a leadership role for INCH’s financial management.
implementing financial and management Policy and Procedures
meeting funding service agreements and other contractual finance obligations
preparing annual financial statements and liaising with external auditors
ensuring Legislative Requirements for a not-for-profit association are met
Other duties include:
Management of the Association’s accounts by processing and recording accounts payable, payments received and payroll
Recording of general journals monthly, quarterly and annual basis to reflect the requirements of Australian Accounting Standards
Regular reconciliations of bank accounts, wages, and other accounts as appropriate
Production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the Board which may include financial forecasts and variance analysis as required
Coordination and minuting of scheduled Finance and Audit Subcommittee meetings
Preparation of returns and timely payment for statutory obligations such as BAS, PAYG, FBT, Workcover, QLeave
No payroll, as this is outsourced
Annual update of Financial policy and procedures
Annual mapping changes in legislation and processes for all INCH’s policies
Liaison with external auditors, funding bodies and other external organisations
Participating and implementing INCH’s Strategic Goals relating to INCH’s Housing Services.
your must have or obtain before commencement, a Qld Blue Card - approved to work with children.
This position is a 25 hours per week, with flexibility on days of work and some flexibility on shift times.
Salary rates is under the SCHAD - Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
