Our client is a small but enormously successful hospitality firm in Sydney that has an online sales product. The role is controlling the full bookkeeping and accounting function, reporting to the directors.

It would suit a fully qualified accountant, preferably CPA or even CA, who can jump in with minimal assistance and training. Previous experience with a small to medium business is essential as is competency in MYOB AccountRight, STP payroll and advanced Excel. Experience lodging ASIC returns and changes also an advantage.

Much of the role is general bookkeeping, invoicing, accounts receivable, MYOB bank recs, weekly payroll, super, workers’ comp, etc but there are some accounting tasks such as BAS, budget / forecasting, cash flow monitoring and commission calculations for the sales people every month. There will be many other projects working closely with the directors regarding investments and property.

It’s a role that preferably would be done from home with enormous flexibility, with no set hours but the availability to send invoices on any day is important. Ditto for chasing overdue invoices. It would be ideal if you could come into the CBD office occasionally, but not essential.
