Role Overview
The Area Manager plays a key leadership role in the operational success and growth across our 10 WA studios. Acting as the primary point of contact for studio managers and owners, this role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, coaching and upskilling studio teams, and driving consistent, measurable improvements in performance.
The Area Manager is accountable for ensuring all studios meet or exceed S30’s operational standards and performance benchmarks. This includes increasing revenue, reducing churn, improving team capability, and ensuring studios are aligned with brand expectations.
In addition to direct studio support, this role works closely with departments across HQ—including Marketing and Programming—to ensure the successful execution of national campaigns, studio-level initiatives, and brand-wide promotions. The Area Manager helps translate high-level strategies into practical, studio-ready actions and ensures consistency in how initiatives are rolled out, tracked, and optimised across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Support & Oversight
Be the first point of contact for studio managers requiring operational guidance or issue resolution.
Provide on-the-ground support and coaching for new managers and underperforming studios.
Conduct regular in-person and virtual check-ins with studios to assess progress, troubleshoot problems, and provide feedback.
Ensure all studios are operating in line with S30’s systems, tools, and expectations.
Studio Performance Management
Monitor KPIs including revenue, lead generation and conversion, attendance, yield, and retention.
Identify and address performance issues quickly, creating tailored improvement plans for struggling studios.
Support studios to execute on their performance targets and in studio experience.
Provide weekly and monthly reports on studio performance with actionable insights for the HQ team.
Team Development & Leadership Coaching
Train and mentor studio managers in leadership, sales, member engagement, and CRM best practice.
Drive a culture of accountability and performance within studio teams.
Identify skill gaps and coordinate development initiatives to build high-performing studio teams.
Champion the S30 training frameworks and ensure successful onboarding of new hires.
Operational Standards & Compliance
Conduct regular audits of studio operations to assess compliance with S30 brand standards.
Support studios in maintaining excellent facility presentation, class experience, and staff professionalism.
Provide clear feedback and corrective action plans when operational standards are not met.
Process Implementation & Training
Assist with rollout of new systems, campaigns, training resources, or process changes across studios.
Liaise with HQ departments to ensure consistent execution of national strategies.
Ensure all studios are fully informed and trained on platform updates, promotions, and operational changes.
Reporting & Communication
Deliver clear and structured feedback to HQ on challenges, support needs, and training gaps.
Track and report on recurring issues, member feedback themes, and frontline team sentiment.
Maintain accurate records of studio visits, coaching sessions, and support provided.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with the broader leadership team to identify network-wide trends and implement scalable improvements.
Participate in strategic planning sessions and campaign reviews.
Help pilot new initiatives and provide HQ with performance insights from studio execution.
About You
Must-Have Experience:
Proven experience as an Area Manager, overseeing 5 or more sites
Experience working within a franchise environment
Current driver’s licence and comfortable with regular travel to studio locations
Nice to Have:
Previous experience as a Studio Manager, Club Manager or Ops Manager within the fitness industry
