About the Role

We are seeking applications for the casual role of Food & Beverage Supervisor. This is an exciting role responsible for the hands-on, day-to-day smooth and efficient management of outlets. This includes the quality and speed of service, style of presentation and adherence to guidelines of standardised Food and Beverage offerings. The Food & Beverage Supervisors are responsible for maintaining hygiene standards and efficient practices, staff training, cash handling procedures and overseeing the preparation and presentation of a consistent Food and Beverage product and service which meets customers’ expectations of value, quality and timeliness.

This is not a 9 to 5 position. It will require the individual to have a high degree of flexibility in their work times, as the majority of shifts are rotated over seven (7) days, predominantly during evenings and weekends.

Food and Beverage Supervisors should be available for a minimum of four (4) shifts per week (including availability from 4:00pm on Wednesdays through to Saturdays due to matinee performances).

In this role you will:

Supervise and directly oversee restaurant, bar and function service, predominantly during evenings (note: this is a hands-on position).

Lead, motivate and coach the Food and Beverage team, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.

Assist in controlling the quality and presentation of Food and Beverage products in outlets and functions, and the condition and cleanliness of all facilities and equipment, with all breakages and breakdowns being properly reported and recorded.

Supervise and directly oversee the usage of point-of-sale system and enforce cash handling procedures.

Undertake cashiering on computerised point-of-sale system, including collection of floats, and storing in appropriate safes as required.

Monitor and report on guest satisfaction, with particular attention to satisfactory resolution of complaints.

Manage, oversee and continuously improve the level of service standards to achieve optimum quality and speed of Food and Beverage service delivery.

Oversee internal special events and Food and Beverage promotions.

Supervise and oversee all aspects of sanitation and maintain outlets and function spaces in a hygienic and orderly condition at all times.

Attend and participate in meetings as required by the administrative calendar.

Assist to maintain the pre-set minimum and maximum stocks of all beverage lines, materials and operating equipment.

Ensure the highest standards of personal presentation, hygiene and conduct in accordance with QPAC’s values, both personally and for the Food and Beverage team.

Assist to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored.

Be fully conversant with QPAC’s fire, security, first aid and emergency procedures.

Conduct shift briefings and communicate with restaurant and kitchen staff throughout shifts, maintaining good relations.

Develop a thorough knowledge of QPAC’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and prepare and manage staff accordingly and efficiently.

Comply with applicable legislation, codes and policies, including anti-discrimination, EEO and workplace health and safety legislation.

Perform any other duties as directed by management.

It is a mandatory requirement for applicants recommended for appointment to this position to present a national police certificate (name check only) clear of security breaches and dishonesty type offences.
