- 2 Positions Available (1x permanent part time, 1 x Fixed term Part time contract- Parental Leave cover till End of Feb 2026)
- Hobart Based, 66 Hours per fortnight
- 4 Days on, 4 Days off (2 x shifts 3.45pm – midnight, 2 x shifts 11.45pm – 8am, 4 days off)

Our Safe Space program provides 24-hour safety and support for people experiencing homelessness. The day program is a space for people to relax, have a meal and connect with important support services. The night space is a place for community members to sleep, with beds and meals provided.
We are seeking professional client-focused people-leader to join our team! You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Safe Space Night program, including engaging with guests and making them feel welcome, assessing safety and recording data and notes. You will be the go-to person while on shift, providing direction and mentoring to other staff members and volunteers on operational and client issues as they arise.
About you:
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications in social work, community welfare, psychology, mental illness, drug & alcohol dependency, nursing or other related field
- Experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor leading small teams
- Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable individuals experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol and homelessness
- Personal resilience along with passion and purpose
- A calm and reassuring manner that enhances a safe environment
- A proactive and passionate approach with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent listening skills with ability to quickly assess and respond to risks
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative, prioritise and solve problems in a challenging and dynamic environment

The successful applicant must have a National Police Certificate (no older than 6 months), a current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment category).
