Team Leader Career / Support Worker Permanent part time - (Sherwood)

Averaging three shifts per week direct support and additional non-support hours for team leader activities.

Do you possess a clear vision for what is achievable for individuals living with disabilities including maintaining family and community relationships and, do you have experience in leading a team to provide excellent support based on a “do with not do for “model and mindset?

We are seeking a Permanent / Part time Team leader for an existing team providing 24-hour support for a lady in her own home.

This role is offered with a three-month transition period. Where the applicant will be employed as a casual support worker to learn and build relationships. At the end of this period, the successful applicant will be offered a Permanent Team leader role.

This role is structured to enable you to work closely with one participant, fostering a strong bond with both the individual and the team. You will have administrative hours allocated to mentor your team and fulfill administrative responsibilities within your adaptable schedule.

Aura Lifestyle Services PTY LTD (Aura) is seeking a Team Leader to assist a lady in Sherwood to live her best life. This lady is well established in her home and has a team of dedicated support workers to be led by a Team Leader who understands her needs, her community, and family connections. The lady enjoys spending time in her garden, going for walks , connecting with her family via video calls and meeting with friends for morning tea. She enjoys her days at her own pace, a healthy diet, and a rest in the afternoon.

She has a very loving family who play a central part in all aspects of her life and a circle of support who ensure safeguards are in place.

The Role

This lead role will work in close partnership with Aura and her family who will guide, mentor, and transfer their knowledge of what is successful.

We are seeking someone who has strong leadership and administration skills. Along with leadership, coordination, and administration tasks, you will spend time on roster directly supporting this Lady, to ensure you are building a valuable relationship, so she feels safe and listened to. Immersing yourself in her life via direct support will help you to fully understand her needs and desires, providing you with a platform to contribute to her and her family’s vision. Other day to day activities would include:

· Providing excellent support and supervision to support staff who form the team you will lead.

· Managing staff rosters, timesheets and overseeing daily shift reports

· Overseeing maintenance of her home

· Coordinating and Resourcing activities and community inclusion projects

· Arranging medical, therapeutic, and other appointments as direct by her family

· Ensuring that her home and living environment is safe, attractive, clean, and welcoming.

You will be supported with training, mentoring and direct contact with family and our leadership team through this process.

You will have up to 10 hours per week off roster to manage and support other aspects of her life and the team of staff. Hours on roster will require flexibility including overnight daytime and possible weekend support.

About You

You will have ‘can do’ attitude and pride yourself on being calm and kind, work in a planned and proactive way – and have a natural ability to build rapport and relationships.

Your communication is exceptional. You understand how to deliver information whilst respecting family values, relationships, and decisions. Promoting a culture of integrity, respect, privacy, and confidentiality. You will have an innate sensitivity to this lady’s needs, goals, and vision, whilst being empathetic to her personal challenges and providing regular updates to specialists, Aura and her family.

You will be able to support this lady at her own pace, observing and celebrating positive milestones as will your team.

Requirements and Selection Criteria

· Ability to build a natural, positive, and effective relationship with the lady, her family and significant others.

· Ability to lead, coach and mentor a small team.

· Ability to listen and learn.

· Ability to work closely with allied health professionals who play an important role in the Lady ‘s life.

· Experience of supporting people with diverse disability support needs is desirable.

· Strong administration background

· Car and driver’s license

· NDIS Worker Clearance Screening

· Current First Aid and CPR

BENIFITS

Aura also offers support workers access to Salary Sacrifice up to $15,900 per year for Casuals, Part-Time and Full-Time and confidential access to an Employee Assistance Program (for work related and personal related matters).

Hours

The position is Part Time Permanent Level 4.1 of Home Care Award; however, Aura pays above Award rates.

There is a transition period of 3 months to allow for training, relationship building and buddy shifts.
