Due to expansion in our Safe Haven program, we are currently seeking applications for a Team Leader in our northwest region in a permanent, fulltime role.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced person in Therapeutic / Trauma informed practice to join Glenhaven’s Safe Haven program based in the Northwest.
Glenhaven Family Care provides trauma informed therapeutic care to children and young people in Out-Of-Home Care and this role will provide direct support to the management team that oversee children specifically in our Safe Haven program. The Team Leader will promote a nurturing and trusting environment that is conducive to therapeutic growth for children and young people, and supportive for staff.
We are looking for applicants with skills, experience, and talent in therapeutic / trauma informed care as well as leadership experience who hold a relevant qualification in Community Services and who align with our values.
This role is predominantly day shifts with some afternoon shifts.
As a Team Leader, you will have:
Experience in providing therapeutic trauma informed care to children and young people and an understanding of developmental trauma.
Certificate IV in Community Services or similar or working toward; OR lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience: or attained through previous appointments, service and/or study.
Highly developed skills in managing challenging and confronting behaviours that arise, in a calm and consistent manner and modelling this to staff.
A caring nature, be patient, supportive, resilient, and passionate about people and your role.
A willingness to be available to take a call from Glenhaven's on-call staff after hours if needed.
Availability to work predominantly day shifts with some afternoon shifts and prepared to fill shifts in periods on weekends and sleepovers due to urgent staffing needs.
A current first aid certificate is desirable but not essential.
A current (less than 12 months old) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check OR National Police Check or happy to submit to one.
A current Working with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed) card is essential.
A current full Australian Driver’s licence (minimum P2s) is essential.
