About the Role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing team. The position is full-time and permanent, and offers exposure to both structural design and site inspection work. The role includes a mix of office-based engineering and fieldwork, including formwork inspections, defect investigations, and direct interaction with builders and certifiers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design of structural elements including footings, slabs, piers, beams, walls, and retaining systems

• Design and detailing of formwork systems for concrete slabs, piers, and beams

• Conduct site inspections, including pre-pour, frame, remedial, and formwork checks

• Prepare engineering reports, remedial scopes, and compliance certificates

• Draft sketches and markups for construction and certifier submission

• Analyse structural loads, review soil/geotech reports, and apply Australian Standards

• Collaborate with clients, certifiers, builders, and internal QA engineers

• Assist in tracking project milestones, inspections, and documentation workflows

Software & Tools (Preferred but Not Mandatory)

• AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu – For drafting, markups, and formwork detailing

• FTG, SLB, RCC, RCB – Structural element and footing design tools

• SAFE, SAP2000, ETABS, SpaceGass – Structural frame and slab analysis

• Excel (custom spreadsheets) – Beam checks, soil pressure, and foundation design

• Monday.com, SharePoint, Dropbox – Project tracking and file management

Special Features of the Role

• Regular involvement in formwork design and inspection, especially for slabs and piers

• Real projects across granny flats, additions, decks, and defect investigations

• Support from Chartered Engineers (CPEng, MIEAust) on design reviews and QA

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

• Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS 3600, AS 2870, AS 4100, AS 1684, NCC)

• Strong communication skills and report writing ability

• Proactive attitude and willingness to take on both design and field tasks

• Valid Australian work rights required (citizen, PR, or visa holders)

• Employer sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates
