About the opportunity:
Position: Operational Services Officer – Patient Handler
Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 73 hours per fortnight
Location: Townsville University Hospital
About the role:
- Maintain clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital in accordance to the Queensland Health Cleaning Standards 2016 through professional cleaning practices and compliance to Infection Control Policy.
- Provide effective and efficient patient handling/transportation as required by medical staff ensuring the safety of the patients by complying with the Queensland Health No Lift Policy & Work Health & Safety guidelines.
- Ensure that the confidentiality and privacy of patient and facility information is respected at all times in line with the Code of Conduct.
- Be willing and able to accept responsibility and to work harmoniously and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Be willing and able to work various shifts 7 days a week. Roster will include night shifts.
- Monitor work areas for facility defects and report same to management to minimise time interval to repair/replacement.
- Attend / update training and follow procedures for any specialised patient equipment that is used / introduced to the facility.
- Complete ad-hoc tasks as requested by Support Services Management team.

- Salary range: $31.24 to $33.33 p.h. (OO2)

Requirements:
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
