Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital just 15 minutes north of the city. ?Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services. Our Directorates includes Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychologists and Social Work. We have an outstanding L&D and discipline Educator co-hort that continually upskill our already skilled and supportive team.
About the Role
The Business Support Services Officer is responsible for general business support, administration, and frontline visitor management. This includes:
- Providing quality frontline support services in a complex environment through multiple contact methods and tasks
- Providing effective, efficient and compliant business support services in a timely and consistent manner
- Maintaining a strong customer focus and engagement at all times and a strong team and individual approach to delivery of these services
- Ensuring positive engagement and relationships with all other portfolio support areas to deliver timely and seamless support Forensicare-wide
Primary Functions will be, but not limited to
- Responsible for reception and visitor management
- Answer incoming calls, and redirect/escalate to appropriate areas
- Maintain all common areas in a safe, tidy and clean manner
- Provide general administrative support to all directorates as required
About You
- Able to provide exceptional customer service with a passion for delivering service excellence.
- Motivated self-starter with a positive and collaborative approach.
- Holds strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator - able to build rapport with visitors, staff, and consumers from across a diverse range of backgrounds.
- Highly organised problem-solver with ability to multi-task and take initiative.
- Has excellent computer literacy with intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills at a minimum.

Our story
Forensicare (Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health) is the state-wide specialist provider of forensic mental health services in Victoria. Forensicare is the only agency in Victoria that provides clinical forensic mental health services which span all components of the mental health and criminal justice sectors – giving Forensicare a unique perspective on mental health and public safety issues. It is able to provide specialist forensic mental health services tailored to meet the specific needs of both sectors.
We provide forensic mental health services for people:
with a serious mental illness in the criminal justice system
at risk of offending who pose a risk to themselves or others
referred from the general mental health system for specialist advice, support and/or treatment.
Forensicare’s primary focus is the provision of clinical services within a recovery framework. These services include the effective assessment, treatment and management of forensic patients, prisoners and clients.
