Financial Controller
We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller, part time 3-4 days per week to join our senior management team, reporting directly to the General Manager. This critical role will lead a team of two finance professionals and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance function.
This position plays a key role in supporting and driving the company’s strategic direction. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, sustainable growth, and project success.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with overall business objectives and support sustainable growth.
Lead and manage the finance function across all areas including daily operations, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, financial and management reporting, taxation, audit, compliance, and insurance.
Identify, assess, and mitigate business risks, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous process improvement.
Promote operational efficiency through the implementation of robust internal controls and financial systems.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the finance function.
Business Partnering
Act as a key finance business partner to senior leadership, providing insights and financial guidance to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational performance and business success.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Support external audits and regulatory engagements, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Regularly review and enhance internal processes and systems to improve efficiency and transparency.

Qualifications and Experience
Fully qualified accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience in a senior financial leadership role.
Proven experience managing all aspects of the finance function within a complex, multi-entity environment.
Strong analytical and reporting skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small finance team.
Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of business operations.
Experience in process improvement and financial systems implementation.
Familiarity with QBCC compliance requirements is advantageous.

Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
