The opportunity
Due to internal promotion, we have two exciting new opportunities available. Our Parks team are not only looking for just any all-rounder Team Leaders, but leaders who have a love for the job and who are driven to grow and kick new goals individually and as a team. You'll have a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for high quality work.
You’ll be responsible for leading and inspiring our Parks Team in the delivery of safe and effective, high quality parks maintenance services. We are looking for a high level of Turf Management and Irrigation skills and or expertise with other Horticulture aspects including landscape gardening, tree and playground maintenance.
The Parks Team includes a bunch of enthusiastic gurus who love all things Horticulture. They thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and find satisfaction in the end result every time.
These are permanent opportunities – working full-time working 38 hours over 4 days Tuesday – Friday - You get a long weekend all year round!
Base Salary Range: $70,419 - $82,774 pa based on 38 hours / week + 11.5% superannuation + $908 Adverse Conditions Allowance + $2,312 retention allowance

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to council staff, volunteers, and contractors to ensure high performance and alignment with Council values
Plan, organise, and deploy operational resources and service schedules, including managing contractors and providing technical advice for project delivery.
Actively manage the deployment of operational resources including plant, labour & materials in consultation with the Parks Supervisor.

Trade Certificate in Horticulture
Demonstrated ability to provide specialist advice and apply technical knowledge and expertise to the maintenance of recreation facilities programs including irrigation, trees, playgrounds, surfaces, garden beds / landscaped areas and foreshores.
Experience in the delivery of maintenance programs and capital works projects for recreational facilities including parks, sports roadsides and foreshores.
Proven ability to operate, maintain and coach team members to safely use horticultural machinery including specialised equipment.
