Purpose of the Role:
As a State Manager, you will be responsible for managing Prolife Foods' Sales Team within your state, ensuring that company goals and objectives are achieved while supporting the long-term success of Prolife Foods' categories and customer relationships. This role involves maximising opportunities for Prolife Foods' categories and ensuring alignment with national store and market share averages.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee store and staff management in the region, including payroll and audits.
Develop and maintain business plans, review them with Regional Managers, and ensure action completion.
Manage the merchandising team and budgets, ensuring adherence and optimising store visits.
Set and manage the state P&L, monitor costs, and approve payroll.
Lead store upgrades and relays, ensuring timely communication and implementation.
Develop and manage the regional management team, ensuring adherence to call cycles and best practices.
Adhere to the Risk Management Manual and ISO9001 2000 quality standards.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with OSH and Health and Safety regulations.
Perform additional tasks as required by management.
About You:
Experienced Leader: 5+ years in senior/state field management with a proven track record.
Relevant experience: You have worked for a large supermarket chain and have managed a team.
Strategic: Ability to align goals with execution and maximise market opportunities.
Effective Communicator: Skilled in liaising with stakeholders and executing action plans.
Finance Savvy: Preferred understanding of business finance.
Philosophy-Driven: Committed to upholding company values and driving results.

Prolife Foods was founded in 1984 by Bernie and Kaye Crosby. It started as a "hot nut" vending supplier - focussed on supplying health food shops and independent retailers within the Hamilton areas.

From there it has grown to become a significant supplier of quality food, in both bulk and grocery formats, to retailers across the length and breadth of New Zealand.

Critical to our history is the development of the Alison's Pantry brand in the bulk foods bins within New World and Pak' N Save stores. This brand has had the strong endorsement of New Zealand's favourite chef, Alison Holst, ever since its launch in 1993 and this continues today.
We have also built a strong brand in Nuts, Snacks and Baking with Value Pack, first launched in 1990. Value Pack is built on the proposition of great quality products, with simple packaging that makes a hero of the product - what you see is what you get!
Finally, in 2008, Prolife Foods acquired the Mother Earth brand from Cadbury. Mother Earth has a long history in both New Zealand and Australia and is well known to consumers for providing naturally delicious and healthy food. Quickly, Mother Earth has become an important part of the Prolife business.
