ROLE DESCRIPTION:
A rare opportunity has arisen to join our experienced team as a permanent, part-time Bookkeeper / Accounts Payroll Officer at T.K. Old Homes 4 days per week (0.8 FTE), working 8.30am – 5.00pm.
The successful candidate will perform a dual/hybrid role with 3 days per week tending to accounts/payroll and 1 day per week performing other construction admin duties (non-accounts related).
Please note, this role is based at our main office in Croydon VIC 3136, 4 days per week (not suitable for those seeking remote working arrangements).
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping and payroll plus other non-accounts related duties (construction admin) as required. In this role, you will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining financial records, ensuring timely payments and collections, and managing payroll for employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, excellent communication skills and prior experience in bookkeeping/payroll. Proficiency and experience in MYOB accounting software is required.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Process and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Prepare and process payroll for employees in a timely manner.
Maintain financial records
Communicate with vendors, clients and employees regarding financial matters.
Download financial reports and assist with end-of-month closing (Note: Financial year-end closing and tax filing currently performed by independent Company Accountant).
Issue Progress Claim/Stage Claim invoices to clients (homeowners/developers) for builds undertaken. Knowledge of HIA Building Contracts is desirable.
Invoice clients for any Change Orders/Variation Orders (client-requested or otherwise).
Undertake other additional administration duties (non-accounts related) as required, including construction admin tasks and administration at the request of Management.
Respond to Accounts-related enquiries and manage Accounts email inbox.
Use Buildertrend (Project Management software program) to assist in the coordination, administrative organisation and delivery of projects as per the building schedule updating Progress Claim Invoices and job running totals as required.
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
Experience in the residential construction industry as an Accounts Clerk is desirable but not essential.
Proficiency in MYOB accounting software is a pre-requisite +/- Xero.
Experience with Buildertrend Project Management software is desirable but not essential.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook email).
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively and work towards deadlines.
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and astute attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in the residential construction industry is a plus.

Annualised salary (calculated pro rata; 0.8 FTE) commensurate with experience plus minimum legislative Superannuation Guarantee Contribution.
