Key responsibilities

The purpose of the Senior Executive Assistant is to manage all day to day administrative activities of the Office of the General Manager, Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) and the wider executive leadership team. Working in a fast paced office, you will be expected to provide timely, professional, efficient and confidential executive support and specialist advice to ensure the proactive management of key issues and responsibilities of the General Manager's office.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Proactively manage the General Manager's emails and diary, organise meetings, prepare meeting papers and provide secretariat services and post meeting actions.
• Conduct financial activites for the Office of the General Manager such as corporate card reconciliation, travel bookings, and other expenses.
• Identify, coordinate and manage issues and produce appropriate responses on behalf of the General Manager by researching issues, evaluating their impact and recommending a course of action to the General Manager.
• Ensure the efficient management of all correspondence and matters for attention by the General Manager and ensuring high priority issues are immediately addressed by the appropriate business area.
• Develop, implement and review executive support systems and procedures within the Office of the General Manager and provide ideas and business improvement where necessary.
• Build and foster relationships and providing assistance to the wider Executive Team, regional staff and Deputy-Director General Offices.
