Purchasing Officer

About the Role: Reporting to the Purchasing Lead, the Purchasing Officer will work with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert procurement advice and execute purchasing activities. The role involves ensuring the timely and collaborative delivery of procurement solutions to meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate and implement Fixed Price Agreements and competitive sourcing with vendors.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and source effectively.
• Foster collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure quality delivery and sustained performance.
• Execute purchasing tasks, including processing requisitions, RFQs, and purchase orders, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with policies.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within procurement processes.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in SAP (materials and services) with a full understanding of the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and experience with business intelligence reporting tools.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Purchasing Specialist in resources, manufacturing, or engineering industries.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Based in Perth CBD, this role also offers flexible working. Initially on offer as a 6-month contract, there is a strong chance it will become permanent in the short to medium term.
