Role Description
We’re currently seeking experienced Role Description Writers (RD Writers) to join a high-impact organizational transformation program within the NSW Government. This initiative involves re-aligning workforce structures and capabilities, and we need skilled professionals to craft job descriptions that reflect new ways of working.
As part of the Org Design & Change team, you will play a critical role in translating job-related information into clear, consistent, and PSC-compliant position descriptions that support business goals and workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities

• Write and update role descriptions in line with the NSW Public Sector Capability Framework
• Conduct job analysis and gather information from subject matter experts to ensure accurate and meaningful job documentation
• Provide expert advice on role design, ensuring compliance with organisational frameworks, naming conventions, and governance standards
• Work collaboratively with People & Culture teams to align job families and maintain consistency across common roles
• Undertake market research and job evaluation analysis to inform position levels and support decision-making

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience writing job or role descriptions in a government or large corporate environment
• Strong understanding of the NSW Public Sector Capability Framework or similar structured frameworks
• Excellent communication and consultation skills to work with SMEs and cross-functional teams
• An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret job data and translate into clear, structured documentation
• A focus on quality, consistency, and compliance across documentation and evaluation practices
