The Opportunity
Our Communications team is expanding and we’re recruiting for the exciting new role of Website Lead.
The role is critical in shaping our website redevelopment, digital communications and online customer experience. Utilising your background and experience in website management, you will ensure our digital platforms deliver a streamlined experience for our customers.
You will work closely with stakeholders across Council to ensure all services, information and activities published to web are accessible, data-driven, strategic and brand compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Council websites are maintained to the highest standard, ensuring timely, accurate, and accessible content, optimal site architecture, user-focused design, SEO best practices, and development of online applications to enable easy customer access and self-service.
- Provide support and training for web authors across the organisation, helping teams to optimise their content and make best use of Council’s online platforms to improve community engagement and customer experience.
- Monitor, analyse and report the performance of Council’s websites and digital campaigns, providing metrics and actionable insights to inform improvements in content, functionality and customer engagement.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, digital, media, marketing or multimedia combined with relevant experience in website management and development.
- The employee may be required to undertake work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, on an ad hoc basis. This will be needed to meet operational requirements.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, in content creation and management of a corporate website.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing effective customer engagement and experience improvements in the digital space, specifically through website management.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
