About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic culinary team at Club Toowoomba as a Sous Chef. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Based in the vibrant city of Toowoomba QLD, this position offers a chance to showcase your culinary expertise and contribute to the overall success of the club.
What you'll be doing
Assisting the Head Chef in the planning, preparation and execution of high-quality, innovative menu items
Coordinating and supervising the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional food quality
Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
Participating in the development and implementation of new menu items and seasonal offerings
Providing training and mentorship to junior members of the culinary team
Liaising with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitoring inventory and placing orders to maintain appropriate stock levels
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role within a busy, high-volume kitchen environment
Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes
Excellent time management and organisational abilities to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and mentor a team
Adaptability and the willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Certificate 3 in Cooking
