We're Hiring: Sous / Senior Sous Chef with potential to become Head Chef

Duke's Restaurant and Bar in East Maitland, NSW, is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Sous or Senior Sous Chef who's ready to take the next step in their career.

What You’ll Be Doing

Preparation and presentation of dishes to a consistently high standard

Collaborating with your Chef on seasonal menu ideas that keep our customers coming back

Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, including sous chefs, commis chefs, and kitchen assistants

Maintaining compliant food safety and hygiene standards

Working closely with management to enhance the overall dining experience

Ordering and managing kitchen supplies

Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and efficient

What We’re Looking For

Strong leadership and teamwork skills

At least 3 years' experience as a Chef in a high quality restaurant or hospitality venue

Great attention to detail, a passion for top-quality food, and pride in what you can deliver

Someone who’s adaptable, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoys cooking for people

Culinary qualifications (like a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery)

A solid grasp of different cooking techniques and cuisines

A positive, can-do attitude and a love for working with a great team

Ability to stay organised and manage time well in a busy kitchen
