Position Overview

The Assistant Hospitality Manager plays a key supporting role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service standards across all food and beverage, clubhouse, and events operations. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive leader with strong operational experience, a passion for customer service, and the ability to lead a team in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

· Support the Hospitality Manager in the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse, dining areas, bar, tee service, and function spaces.

· Assist in overseeing food and beverage service standards, ensuring an outstanding member and guest experience.

· Monitor daily operational flow, responding to service issues promptly and effectively.

· Maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and liquor licensing laws and policies.

Team Leadership

· Supervise and support hospitality staff across all shifts, providing clear direction and mentoring.

· Assist with rostering, training, and performance management of hospitality staff.

· Foster a positive team culture focused on service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Event Coordination

· Lead the events coordination to ensure seamless execution of functions, tournaments, and special events.

· Lead pre-event briefings and oversee event setup and service delivery as required.

Member Engagement

· Build strong relationships with members and guests, consistently seeking feedback to enhance the hospitality experience.

· Handle member and guest concerns or complaints professionally and effectively.

Stock & Financial Management

· Assist with stock control, ordering, inventory checks, and bar/cellar operations.

· Support budget adherence and cost control measures.

· Monitor wastage and contribute ideas to improve profitability.

Qualifications & Experience

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a hospitality environment, preferably in a club or resort setting.

· RSA certificate and food safety certification essential.

· Strong leadership and people management skills.

· Experience with POS systems, ordering platforms, and basic financial reporting.

· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

· Passion for golf and understanding of club culture.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

· Enthusiastic, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.

· Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
