A prominent Government Department is looking for professionals with expertise in commercial disciplines, agreement development and management, and due diligence. These individuals will play a crucial role in leading and enhancing the rigour of economic development decisions within the department, the agency, and across the government.

Your new role

• Conduct commercial, due diligence, and financial analyses for programs and projects, ensuring adherence to guidelines and developing risk management solutions.
• Perform probity searches for incentive programs as requested.
• Carry out due diligence, commercial, and risk assessments on projects, preparing reports to support business cases and terms sheets.
• Assess management capability and funding capacity for 'declared projects' under the SPWO Act.
• Develop and implement programs to identify, monitor, and manage project risks, and create due diligence templates and risk matrices.
• Coordinate responses to Queensland-related foreign investment proposals and liaise with the Federal Treasury.
• Assist with negotiations and financial analyses for major projects with departmental funding.
• Prepare reports, submissions, briefings, and correspondence as directed.
• Support the development and management of funding agreements.
• Monitor funding agreements using spreadsheets.
• Participate in initiatives focused on performance, client service, continuous improvement, and innovation.

What you'll need to succeed

• You have strong analytical skills to conduct detailed commercial, financial, and risk analyses.
• You must possess excellent attention to detail to perform due diligence and probity searches accurately.
• Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing project risks is essential.
• You need to be proficient in preparing reports, submissions, briefings, and correspondence.
• The ability to assist with sensitive negotiations and financial analyses is important.
• Strong organisational skills are necessary to manage and monitor funding agreements and use spreadsheets effectively.
• You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• You must be able to communicate clearly and build strong, beneficial connections.
• Flexibility to handle various tasks and adapt to different types of documents and projects is crucial.
• A proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving is highly valued.
• Demonstrate accountability, contributing to team objectives and persisting through obstacles.
