City Design team have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity working as a Project Officer!

About the role

As the Project Officer City Design you will be responsible for preparing and delivering innovative and effective urban design and built form advice for a range and breadth of projects aligned with Council's work program and project priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing urban design strategies, policies, plans, and providing technical advice on built form and public domain.
  • Offer high-level strategic and specialised urban design and architectural advice for city building initiatives and planning proposals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex urban design projects within deadlines and budgets.
  • Research and analyse urban design trends, integrating them with land use, transport planning.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in urban design and/or architecture including software/ hand drawing capability and any public sector experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing urban design studies, providing built form and public domain advice, and developing design controls/guidelines.
  • Experience in delivering innovative graphic and written urban design recommendations aligned with project objectives.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and practical application.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex issues and conflicts.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), CAD and 3D Modelling software.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $101,563 to $111,820 plus 11.5% superannuation.
